There are two rotations which fellows will join in. The fellow will become an integral member of each team in both clinical service and academic activities. Fellows will switch the rotation every three months. A typical rotation would include one clinic day, two surgical days, two periods of ward round (preoperative planning & postoperative management discussion), one period of minor surgery, and a session of sports medicine conference (alternated between journal club, sports medicine-radiology conference, interesting case presentation, and research meeting) per week. The fellow will also have spare time for preparation of presentation and completion of research project during each week.

Rotation I : Assoc. Prof. Somsak Kuptniratsaikul & Dr. Jirun Apinun

This rotation features surgical varieties of open and arthroscopic procedures of shoulder (40%), knee (40%), and ankle (20%). Elbow, hip, and wrist arthroscopy are also performed on this rotation.

Both Assoc. Prof. Somsak and Pongsak treat the aging athlete with degenerative hip and knee pathology including hip and knee arthroplasty. This arthroplasty experience is optional for the fellows. Nevertheless, most fellows choose to participate in these cases due to the expected volume of these patients in their future practices.
